There are so many things that you might argue about when in a relationship. But there are ways to avoid such arguments. You just need to follow a few simple rules;
· Put yourself in your partner’s shoes
Instead of thinking about your feelings, put yourself in your partner’s place and try to feel what they experience when you argue with them. It’s not about who is right or who is wrong, you need to show concern for each other.
· Try to communicate with each other
It’s better to communicate with each other and try to agree and follow a specific plan when the situation gets tense. You will experience many occasions when you feel the urge to respond but if you stick to the plan such situations can be avoided.
· Do something else
Getting engaged in arguments is pretty useless, instead try to get involved in something a bit creative. Go for a walk, hang out with each other, do whatever pleases you.
I feel sad when I think of someone I used to have long, open, freeing talks with, but who hasn’t spoken to me at all lately. People who I’ll send little notes to, about missing them, who reply “Love you!” or “We have to talk soon!”, but somehow we never actually connect.
Then there’ll come a day…
